*Most projects require at least one developmental edit before a line edit. If you ask for a line edit, keep in mind that we might recommend a developmental edit instead.
Who We Are
I’m a journalist, critic, and fiction writer. My reporting appears in Politico, Slate, The New Republic, and other high-profile outlets. I’ve published criticism in Lit Hub and The Rumpus, and my fiction appears in North American Review, Image, and Green Mountains Review. I’ve attended writing residencies including The Ragdale Foundation, Hawthornden, the Vermont Studio Center, and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts.
My partner is Devon Halliday. She worked for a decade in the publishing industry, at literary agencies, scouting agencies, and a publishing house. She is also a Pushcart Prize–winning fiction writer, with short stories appearing in People Magazine, Ploughshares, One Story, and many other magazines. Her debut novel To Stay, To Stay, To Stay came out from McSweeney’s in October, and was longlisted for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize. She writes a Substack with over 6,000 subscribers about craft, the publishing process, and the writing life.
